Our Role:
Sport England East’s primary role is to increase and sustain participation in community sport in the East of England. Sport England is the Government’s community sport key delivery partner and a Lottery distributor.

Our Ambition:
Nationally, the ambition is to sustain participation in community sport and increase participation across two million people by 2012. Regionally we are aiming to get 203,688 people participating more by 2012

What we do:
Sport England exists to sustain participation in community sport. This includes traditional teamsports like rugby and netball, as well as newer activities, such as skateboarding. * Community sports activities;
* Sports clubs (including competitive sport);
* Coaches and officiating;
* Player pathways;
* Volunteering;
* Sports facilities.

How we work:
Sport England works strategically with a wide range of partners in the East through the Delivery System for Sport.
