Herts Canoe Club was formed in 1978. It is located in Hertford, on Hartham Common by the River Lee. We are affiliated to the British Canoe Union.

We meet twice a week, Sunday mornings and generally Wednesday evenings, although this is dependant in the time of year.

Costs: Please check website for prices.

They are an expanding friendly club and anyone is welcome from the age of 11 years upwards. They offer beginners sessions, where you can decide if you like it before joining. These sessions are held on the 1st Sunday of month April to October. Please bring a change of clothes and a towel.

As a club they organise numerous day or weekend trips away to suit all levels. These include white water, placid water and sea kayaking trips. The club has a number of racing boats that can be used.

There is a training programme in order to develop skills in accordance with BCU Stars awards. There are opportunities to develop and practice moving water skills in local weirs.

If you wanted they could run a specific introductory course leading to BCU 1* award for other groups / organisations upon request. These could be a opportunity to develop team bonding or simply learn a new skill. They are able to cater for groups up to 12 subject to availability. For any other queries please contact by email for telephone.
