* The FoR began in 1914 when, on the brink of war, a German and an Englishman parted company on Cologne station with the words "We are one in Christ and can never be at war". Inspired by that pledge, about 130 Christians of all denominations gathered in Cambridge at the end of 1914 and set up the FoR.

* At Clopton, there are conference rooms and residential accommodation for small groups or youth gatherings. The building and setting are also ideally suited for retreats. It is called The Eirene Centre, being the New Testament Greek word for peace.

* The youth section is lively and growing, and plans its own projects and national conferences.

* The Global Renewal Programme is a programme of prayer, education and action, with a prayer network and a register of volunteers willing to undertake modest actions.

Date of AGM: April.
