Hitchin Christian Centre

Hitchin Christian Centre is the home of Hitchin Church of God which has been established in Hitchin since 1981. Before the Centre was built they met at Westmill Community Centre but it was always their vision to have a centrally located building to enable them to reach more people. After many years of fund-raising, and watching the church grow from 16-150 members, that vision has now been realised. Hitchin Christian Centre was officially opened in September 1998. Since moving to the centre, membership has grown to 300+.

It is their intention to use the Christian Centre not only as a place of worship, but as a place dedicated to serving the community.

At Hitchin Christian Centre they believe everyone is important and have designed a wide range of activities to cover all needs, these include: Care Groups, Sports and Social, Prayer Support, Alpha Courses, Senior citizens groups, etc.

Three years ago Hitchin Christian Centre opened a FREE term-time Breakfast Bar for all 11-18 year olds from the three secondary schools in Hitchin as part of their service to the community. This initiative is generously supported by Waitrose and Marks and Spencer.
