Jehovah's Witnesses are neutral toward political affairs and base their hope on the Good News of God's Kingdom as defined through the Holy Bible. Their sole leader is Jesus Christ and they exclusively worship the God of the Bible: "Jehovah." They adhere closely to scripture in their conduct and are commended as model citizens in their places of residence.
In each congregation their activity is supervised by a body of elders. Internationally the work is co-ordinated by a central governing body who are based in Brooklyn, NY. This governing body also directs the agencies: Watchtower Bible & Tract Society and the International Bible Students Association, who print and distribute copies of the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures and bible aids such as the Watchtower and Awake journals in addition to co-ordinating humanitarian and Christian education activity.
All Jehovah's Witnesses volunteer their time free of charge.
