St Mary's is an ancient Norman Church next to Toot Hill and the Bury in Pirton, which is used to be a stronghold guarding the northern end of the Icknield Way, where the Chiltern Hills rise. The Church is open to visitors during the day.

On Sundays the main act of worship is at 11.00am (family service on the first Sunday of the month ; Parish Communion on all the rest). There is also an 8.00am service of Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays.
