Yungdrung Bon, meaning Eternal Light or Enlightened Teaching,
is the original and authentic Spiritual Tradition or Bon Buddhism of Tibet.

The founder of the Tradition was Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche.
He was born in Wolmo Loong Ring, otherwise known as Shambala. According to Yungdrung Bon sources the Teaching was first taught in Wolmo Loong Ring and then gradually all over the world.

It was introduced into Tibet from the neighbouring country of Zhang-Zhung.

The Teachings consist of Bon Thegpa Rimgu (The Nine Gradual Views of Bon) or Bon Go-zhi Zod-nga (The Four Portals and Treasure as the Fifth), which can be practised through the three different Paths of Pang-lam (Renunciation Path), Gyur-lam (Transformation Path) and Drol-lam (Liberation Path). These are all based on the principle of showing indiscriminate love and compassion, treating all sentient beings including humankind as one's own Mother.

In the words of His Holiness the Dalai Lama - 'Bon is Tibet's oldest spiritual tradition and, as the indigenous source of Tibetan culture, played a significant role in shaping Tibet's unique identity.'
