Nutmeg Puppet Company (Suffolk)
Nutmeg Puppet Company was founded in 1979. Their shows are original and entertaining, and are inspired by environmental issues, history and legends. They have been grant-aided since 1982 by Arts Council England East. Annually commissioned by the Broads Authority to tour the Suffolk and Norfolk Broads, they have lectured on their work in Hungary and the UK.
The company ran an environmental puppetry project in Romania and produced the Eco-Puppets Handbook. They use shadow, rod and glove puppetry, music and live action in their shows and commission composers, artists, writers and directors to work with them.
They perform in small theatres, schools, community halls, residential homes and in the open air. They also run workshops and residencies, give talks and demonstrations.
