Starlight Theatre School is a distinguished centre of excellence where the high quality of specialist training provided and received nurtures, inspires and develops the talents of each student to become versatile and competent triple-threat performers, equipping 10 to 18 year-olds with the standards required in each of the three essential disciplines to become actors who can sing and dance, dancers who can sing and act and singers who can act and dance. Its reputation, full-time Co-Principals, independent status, full-scale musical productions and its “Entry by audition” policy has made Starlight one of the most exclusive and prestigious part-time theatre schools in the country attracting many students from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and London

The finest training is paramount, where skills are developed for the art rather than the ego and where Starlight’s elite group of young performers learn about the realities, responsibilities and requirements of the Performing Arts industry. Committed to providing the best quality training along with the belief that good things come in small packages, it is Starlight’s intention to remain a small specialist institution rather than a commercialised franchise.

Two separate sessions are held in Hitchin every Saturday from 11am-2pm and from 3pm-6pm. Each session has three groups which are split based on age and ability. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 14 to ensure all students receive the individual attention they need to fully benefit from their tuition.

Approximately three workshop-auditions are held annually giving applicants the opportunity to demonstrate their performance capabilities for tutors to assess and determine their suitability for professional training at Starlight. No audition preparation is necessary. Places will be allocated to students who demonstrate a high level of commitment, discipline and potential with an enthusiastic and hard working attitude towards their training.

If you think you've got what it takes and would like to attend an audition, please download an application form, complete and return it to Starlight Theatre School. You will then be contacted to confirm your audition place. Please contact or visit the website for further information, or for an application form.
