Welwyn Hatfield Ethnic Minority (WHEM) Group is, once again, pleased to be organising its annual cultural celebration event, Kaleidoscope Festival, on Saturday, 19th July 2008.
Now in its sixth consecutive year, the festival has established itself as the premier summer event in Welwyn Hatfield and the surrounding areas. This one-day event provides an opportunity for local people to come together and celebrate the area's rich cultural diversity. The 2007 event, which took place on Saturday, 14th July, attracted over 120 exhibitors and stall-holders as well as a record number of members of the public.
We are inviting local individuals, other voluntary/community sector organisations, public agencies and private companies to express an interest to be stall-holders/exhibitors at the 2008 event. For next year's event, our theme will be "Shared neighbourhoods, shared values." We would be encouraging our exhibitors and stall-holders to consider how proposed activities might support members of our diverse communities realise and appreciate, not just living in common neighbourhoods, but also within shared values. All potential exhibitors/stall-holders need to complete an Expression of Interest form (available on our website), to be considered for the event.
