Meals On Wheels. WRVS (East Hertfordshire)

Who is eligible for meals on wheels?
A person who is:
* frail and/or elderly;
* housebound;
* prevented from shopping, preparing and cooking a hot meal due to a disability;
* recently discharged from hospital;
* in need of temporary help to relieve a carer.

Who can refer people for the meals on wheels service?
* Doctor;
* Adult Care Services (formerly Social Services).

Cost and delivery of the meals
The meals on wheels service is available seven days per week, including Bank holidays and Christmas, across the East Hertfordshire area. The meal cost £2.80 (from April 2008).

Choice of meals
Clients are offered a choice of menu and diabetics and people with other medical dietary needs can be catered for.
