Who is eligible for meals on wheels?
A person who is:
- frail elderly.
- housebound.
- prevented from shopping, preparing and cooking a hot meal due to a disability.
- recently discharged from hospital.
- in need of temporary help to relieve a carer.

People wanting this service during the week can refer themselves by contacting the above address/telephone number.

Cost and delivery of the meals
Delivered to the client's home by volunteers and paid staff between Monday and Friday. Cost is £2.65 (as of March 2008).

Special diets e.g. low fat, soft food, vegetarian, diabetic, can be catered for.
Volunteer information
Volunteers are required to work in pairs (driver and mate) delivering hot meals according to lists of addresses supplied.
Volunteers may work as often or as little as they choose.
The mileage rate is 40p per mile, and based on number of dates deliveries were made.
