Age Concern Hertfordshire is a countywide organisation working with and for older people in Hertfordshire. We offer a wide range of services across Hertfordshire:

Information - free, confidential and countywide service for older people, their relatives and carers. Info Line 0845 601 3446.

Advice Outreach - countywide service offering trained advisers to visit older people at home to help secure rights and access services.

Advocacy in Care Homes - an independent advocacy service for older people in care homes.

Home Matters - countywide service helping older people to deal with domestic administration and money matters.

Benefits outreach - in partnership with Herts Action on Disability, a benefits adviser travels on the Ivanhoe lorry, visiting towns around the county.

Visiting scheme - weekly social visits to older housebound people throughout the county: Dacorum area covered by Age Concern Dacorum.

Telephone club - weekly social phone calls to older housebound people throughout the county.

Hospital Discharge & Independent Living Scheme - practical & emotional support provided to older people in the first few weeks after leaving hospital to help them to adjust to living independently again.

Carer Support - provides information, advice and support to older carers throughout Hertfordshire.

Day Care - day centres in Watford and Welwyn Garden City, drop-in centre in Hertsmere and 10 to 3 Clubs around the county, all providing social support and a range of activities for older people.

Asian and Italian outreach - supporting older Asians in North Herts and Welwyn Garden City; and older Italians in North Herts.

Trading - insurance companies, gas and electricity supply, pre-paid funeral plans. Also charity shops in Hoddesdon, Potters Bar, Royston and Sawbridgeworth.
