The Advocacy Project offers a community based service supporting and encouraging members of the black and ethnic minority community to challenge inappropriate procedures, practises and treatments within the mental health system.

It also aims to raise awareness of health and social services professionals and those in the voluntary and private care sectors of the needs of black people with mental health problems.
