Hertfordshire Police Authority was set up to make sure that the views of the people who live and work in the county are represented when decisions about local policing are made, and to act as a 'watchdog' on the police performance.
Consultation plays a key role in the Authority's work. Each year the Police Authority uses public meetings, surveys, focus groups and questionnaires to find out what people think.
Formal committee meetings of the Authority are open to public and local people are encouraged to take advantage of the question time held at the start of all meetings. There is also the opportunity to present petitions to the Police Authority.
Dates, times and venues for all the Authority's meetings are available on its website.
