The Parliamentary and Heallth Service Ombudsman considers complaints from members of the public about the National Health Service (NHS), in England only, and UK central government departments and agencies which have not been dealt with to the satisfaction of the complainant by the body concerned.

The complaint needs to be taken up locally first with the NHS provider or Government body, as most complaints are dealt with quicker this way. Compliants about Government bodies will need to be referred to the Ombudsman by an MP.

The Ombudsman is completely independent of the Governement and the NHS.
