This is the main reference library for the borough, plus lending library for students. It also houses the borough's local studies collection.

Stock includes reference books and periodicals, official publications, council information, and a lending stock of books for study (mainly A-Level and above).

Special stock includes books on architecture, building and town planning, and genealogical resources.
The library also has a small paperback fiction section and a collection of DVDs for loan.

Over 40 public PCs with free access to the internet and some Microsoft applications; one public PC has a scanner attached.

Photocopying facilities including colour photocopying, microfilm and microfiche reader-printers.

Accessibility: Automatic doors, accessible toilet on ground floor, lift to library on first floor, two disabled parking spaces behind library building, off Milton Road.

* Mondays 9.30am-8.00pm;
* Tuesdays 9.30am-8.00pm;
* Wednesdays 9.30am-8.00pm;
* Thursdays 9.30am-8.00pm;
* Fridays 9.30am-5.30pm;
* Saturdays 9.00am-5.00pm;
* Sundays closed.
