The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets is the regulatory body for gas and electricity supply.

The Office is responsible for regulating the gas and electricity markets protecting customers' interests. It also encourages competition in both markets which since May 1999 have seen all domestic customers free to choose which company supplies their gas and electricity.
