The aims of the society are to interest residents of North Hertfordshire and surrounding areas in the country side.
To this end the society organises a ramble on the first Sunday of the month starting at 10.00am (distance approx 5-7 miles). Also Friday evening walks from mid-May to mid-August, commencing 7.15pm, distance 3-4 miles.
Lectures on natural history are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from September to April at the Letchworth Settlement, Nevells Road, Letchworth. The meetings start at 7.30pm and tea and coffee are available.
The society also has a very active conservation group.
There is no age limit, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Annual subscription which includes Rambles and indoor meetings is £8.00. Guests are charged £2.00 for meetings (under 18's are free).
The Settlement has parking spaces and a toilet for the disabled.
