Skillset

Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries. They are owned and managed by the industry and work with both the industry and government to determine their sector's training needs. They also develop and implement quality standards and qualifications which recognise peoples skills and expertise, and they encourage and raise investment for training to make sure that their industry and the people who work in it remain successful.

Skillset is a UK wide strategic organisation and they:
* Help improve the competitiveness of their industry;
* Undertake research to find out about the training and skills needs of their industry;
* Support and develop new and existing talent for their industry;
* Promote training levels which meet industry needs;
* Encourage and raise investment to pay for training for individuals and organisations;
* Recogise and certificate the skills and expertise of people working in their industry;
* Advise on UK wide education and training policy;
* Encourage and support equality of opportunity;
