The Welwyn Film Record Society has made a filmed record of people and events in the Parish of Welwyn each year since 1968. The half hour films are professionally edited and narrated and now constitute a fascinating record of life in, and changes to, the village of Welwyn.
The society is supported by the Welwyn Parish Council and each year's new film is first shown at the Parish AGM. A selection of past films are show during Welwyn Festival week and shows are also given to local societies during the year. 20 and 25 year compilation videos are available to purchase and archive footage is occasionally supplied to broadcast television companies/
Members meet on a monthly basis. Anyone interested in local history is welcome to join the society and they don't necessarily need to be a video/film enthusiast.
