The Hertfordshire Philharmonia was formed in 1994 with the joint aims of bringing high quality, accessible music to Hertfordshire and providing a showcase for some of the county's finest musicians.
As a self-governing independent orchestra, it has no permanent conductor but work with a number of different guest conductors who can bring fresh and interesting insights into both standard and unusual works in the classical repertoire. The Orchestra also engages eminent and emerging soloists from around the UK. The Orchestra welcomes approaches from experienced players who wish to join.
Times: Rehearsals usually five Thursdays 7.30pm-10.15pm preceding a concert.
Venues:
Rehearsals: usually Applecroft School, Applecroft Road, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6JZ.
Concerts: held in various towns throughout Hertfordshire.
