The Chiltern Chamber Choir was founded in 1976 by its present conductor, Adrian Davis.
The Choir draws its members (about 45-50) from a wide area around Berkhamsted, where it rehearses weekly.
Members are good sight readers and include former choral scholars, music teachers and others from varied walks of life, but all with a common passion for singing.
The repertoire is mostly sacred music and the choir performs 4 or 5 major concerts each year - many with orchestral accompaniment. Since 1996, the choir has undertaken concert tours to France, the Czech Republic, Holland, Germany Tuscany and Spain (for Spanish television). Recent events include concerts in Seville, Leipzig (Gewandhaus), Reutlingen and Berlin.
Rehearsals are held at Berkhamsted Collegiate School (Castle Street) on Thursdays at 8.00pm.
