This is a senior band of around 70 members aged from 12 to 40ish! There is a full range of brass plus flutes, saxes and clarinets, and a range of tuned and drum percussion players.
This is a band with a great social programme, and opportunities to make new friends, proven by several inter-bandsman weddings over the past few years!
There are three main concerts per year in local theatres or halls, plus away weekends competing in marching band contests or major events such as the Lord Mayor's Show.
The band was a Silver medallist in the World Music contest in 2005. The band is 2005 European Showband Champions.
Membership is approx £100 per annum.
There is also a training section. Loan instruments are available. Ages over 10.5; Mondays, 7.00pm-8pm, £30 per term all in.
This is a registered charity under the name Hertfordshire Band Academy.
