Pattacakes Cookery School

Cookery classes and parties for children aged two and a half years upwards. Also, cookery coaching for older students and adults.

Pattacakes Cookery School aims to teach young children the basics of cookery in a fun environment. Each session they focus on different dishes teaching children the skills to produce good quality healthy food. They make use of all opportunities to talk about the food they eat and where it comes from. They encourage everyone to be actively involved in producing the dishes and they take home the food they make.

Pattacakes provide all the ingredients, equipment and aprons, using high quality produce.

Courses can be booked as a series or on a one off basis. Courses are usualy held in the Food Technology Department at St Georges School, Harpenden, usually on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.

All sessions include information on hygiene and safety. Pattacakes is fully insured and tutors are CRB checked.

They also run cookery birthday parties for over 5's and dinner party teaching sessions for over 8's and will run sessions for schools and after school clubs, including historical cookery classes based on food through the ages.

A cookery club for pre-schoolers is also on offer on a regular basis where children attend for one hour with their carer.

Adult cookery coaching is available, to learn new skills or brush up on existing ones.

Pattacakes Cookery School runs its pre-school cookery club on a Friday afternoon every other week, currently at St Nicholas Church Hall, Harpenden.

The children will make a dish that they can take home to share with the family.

Pattacakes cookery School also runs unique workshops with 'Made by Me', a ceramic painting studio. These half day workshops offer a fun creative morning of cooking and pottery painting for 5-12 year olds, ring for details.
