Barn Theatre (Welwyn Garden City)

Advance tickets for shows are available from the Campus West Box Office. During a production tickets are available from the Barn Theatre Box Office.

Newcomers to the Barn are usually impressed by two things: the professional standard of performance and production, and the astonishing transformation of a 17th century farm building into a well-equipped modern theatre, with a comfortable raked auditorium with excellent vision from every seat, and a cosy bar. They are even more surprised to discover that everything has been achieved by volunteers who work only for the love of the theatre.

Over the past years the Barn Theatre has achieved an enviable reputation, regularly winning Drama Festival Awards for the quality of its productions, and has attracted some of the very best talents.

In recent years the varied programme offered by the Barn Theatre has been supplemented by small-scale professional productions, often by well-known performers who have appeared in the West End, the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The Theatre is close to Junction 4 of the A1(M), and only 10 minutes walk from the centre of town and Welwyn Garden City Train Station. Bus stop routes 330/340 are close by in Handside Lane.
