A lively drama group performing original plays with music written with local history as a theme and staged in Welham Green'a own Theatre at the Memorial Hall, Station Road, Welham Green.
It is not an operatic society. They do not hold auditions and everyone is welcome to contribute as much as they are able.
Ages range from 10 years upwards.
Current production (to be performed on 6th, 7th, 8th March 2008) is 'Caroline's Quest' - a story of Caroline Casamajor's time at Moffatt's after leaving the grand home of Potterells where she lived most of her life; now seeking a new purpose in life she built as financed a girl's school at Water End amid much opposition.
Previous productions include: 'Vincenzo' - a musical play about the momentus balloon flight (and the landing in North Mymms) of Vincenzo Lunardi in 1784; 'Potterell's Piano' - a short tale of the music in Potterell's House in its heighday; 'Dear Lydia' - a drama from the life of Dame Lydia Mews, benefactress of North Mymms in the 18th Century and 'Whistle in the Dark', a tribute to the nursing staff and patients of the Red Cross Hospital, North Mymms House, during the 1950 and 'Cafe Balanche' - a tale of the trials and fortunes of a local transport cafe which gained the name 'Budgie cafe' because of its association with the popular TV series 'Budgie'.
