Scottish Country dance classes are held at various Cambridge venues from September to May. They include Highland and Ladies Step dances and Scottish music tuition for all abilities.
TheRSCDS was formed in November 1923 to practise and preserve country dances as danced in Scotland. It has branches all over the world, promoting the teaching of dancing to maintain the aims and objectives of the Society.
The Cambridge and District Branch has classes for all ability levels from beginners to advanced, Demonstration and Teacher's Certificate.
Teams of dancers provide demonstrations at functions of all kinds, from very formal to social and light-hearted.
In the classes, the emphasis is on learning basic steps and formations as well as learning dances on local dance programmes. This is an excellent way to keep fit and all are welcome.
