Contact Bridget

Phone(s): 07766 086183
email: raqssharqi@ntlworld.com

Bridget teaches and performs Raqs Sharqi, traditional-style Egyptian dance. The dance is very similar to bellydancing but more folk-oriented in dress and style. It is fun, a great way to exercise, sociable, and suitable for women of all ages, size and shape. Classes for age 14 and up.

There are regular classes at the Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living, and at other venues in Letchworth, Baldock and Stevenage. Bridget is also available for private tuition, workshops, demonstrations, and parties (mixed company) including hen-parties. She also runs occasional workshops at North Hertfordshire College.

She has been dancing for 12 years and teaching for six. She really enjoys sharing this art form and watching people express their personalities and develop power, confidence and body awareness.

Bridget appears regularly with the dance group 'Tabeeya' including Hitchin's Rhythms of the World festival, and at other venues across the Eastern counties. She has also performed at the 'Out of Africa Festival' in Carnaby Street and at the Raqs Sharqi Showcase Performances.
