Square Dancing is guaranteed fun and friendship set to music.

It is essentially a team effort. Eight people form a square and dance a pattern of figures sung by a caller. As well as being very sociable, square dancing provides good mental stimulation and gentle exercise for people of all ages; even those with two left feet.

As with most activities, lessons are necessary to learn the basics but the fun begins the minute you step onto the floor.

Once you know the moves you can dance at over 170 clubs in the UK and 9000 clubs world wide. You can also take part in holidays and other events.

Waggoner’s club meets every Monday night from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. The beginner’s group dance a program suited to their needs and more experienced dancers have a "Mainstream" program. The cost is £3 per session including tea or coffee.

The club is run by a committee. As well as the regular Monday night program there are occasional Saturday night dances, social events and coach trips.
