The locomotive was purchased from a South Wales scrapyard and moved to Great Central Railway, Loughborough in 1976. Restoration was completed in 1997 and the loco has since worked on several preserved railways as well as providing trips on the main line including the steam-hauled summer services from Fort William to Mallaig in Scotland since 1999.
Annual membership is available, and shares in the Loco owning company may be purchased.
Publications: B1 News (quarterly newsletter).
The Trust can offer an illustrated (slide show) talk to organisations/groups on the restoration story of the locomotive (a donation to the trust and travelling expenses is requested).
