Meetings are held at Chiswell Green United Reformed Church Hall, Watford Road, Chiswell Green, near St Albans at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of each month from September to May.

This is a club for all railway enthusiasts. A typical year's programme includes a wide range of speakers and films on railway-related topics:
Modern traction; Freight operations; Local lines; Preservation; Overseas railways; Current developments; History of railways; Railway management; Specialist lines; Rail safety and policing.

Becoming a member of the Locomotive Club of Great Britain brings further benefits including visits to depots, signalling centres and preserved railways, ten issues of the club magazine and discounts on railway enthusiasts' magazines.

Facilities for People with Disabilities:
There is a slope to help the disabled get in, and there is a disabled toilet. There is a loop system for the hard of hearing (please tell us in advance).

* 09/04/09 Railways at Home & Abroad. A film presentation by Nick Lera, Locomotion Pictures;

* 14/05/09 AGM & Main Line Steam 1900-1960 by Graham Stacey, LCGB Kenn Nunn, Photograpic Collection Keeper.
