The club meets at Church House, Church Yard, Hitchin, SG5 1HP, usually on the 3rd Wednesday in the month (excluding December) 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. Open meeting in November at the Queen Mother Theatre.
Founded in 1962, this is an informal, friendly group who welcome new members and visitors of all abilities.
The club has entertaining and informative demonstrations at most meetings, with occasional practical evenings when members are encouraged to have a go at new techniques and ideas from the changing world of floral art and design. The HFAC also gets involved with Flower Festivals in and around the local area.
In the broader picture the HFAC is affiliated to NAFAS - (the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies), as a member of the Home Counties Area of NAFAS. Through this link, HFAC have access to competitions and festivals staged at Area and National level for those that are interested, this year winning a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower Show. NAFAS also offers other benefits to members including training in Judging, Demonstrating, and Speaking.
