Hertfordshire Basketry exists to promote and develop the craft of basketmaking in both traditional and contemporary contexts. The term basketry encompasses a vast range of techniques and materials, so there is bound to be something to suit everyone.

We welcome everyone with an interest in basketry, from complete beginners to established makers. The group encourages the exchange of techniques and ideas between members with specific skills and interests and makers from other applied arts, such as jewellery, textiles and papermaking.

The group organises workshops led by experienced makers and by members with particular skills and interests. We also arrange talks, demonstrations and visits to galleries, museums, exhibitions and other places of interest and relevence to basketmakers.
