Artist's statement:
Joanna Scott has worked as a freelance artist and illustrator for twenty years. Commissions range from portraiture and Trompe L'oeil murals, as well as work published as greetings cards, prints, book covers, album covers, textiles, t-shirts and theatre posters. Joanna mainly works with acrylics, airbrush acrylics, watercolours and inks.
Clients have included Halcyon Days Fine Enamels in Mayfair, La Senza lingerie stores via Muraspec, Harrods and Selfridges via Shreds.
Joanna is a Director STARTS, an organisation formed to lobby for a cultural heart in St Albans.
In addition to a twenty year career as a commercial artist and illustrator, Joanna has worked with various community groups as well as Hertfordshire Youth Service. She has provided arts at The New Hope Trust in Watford for the homeless for special needs groups, mural painting with young people, and with Children Looked After. As well as consulting to Watford Grammar School girls on their prep work for GCSE art. She has also been involved with set design and illustration with schools and community groups. Other community clients include Cambridge Library Services, The Arts Education Team Dacorum and Blink Media.
