Artist's statement:
Evelina’s work is colour and energy. Almost everything ends up vibrant and full of joy. She does no paint reality. She imagines impossible things or invents compositions which come from other dimensions; she herself does not know where they come from.
Evelina paints in acrylic, oils and mixed media, medium to large sizes on paper and canvas and has produced some 800 paintings and 750 drawings. Her compositions express emotions or feelings and sometimes incorporate surreal elements. Her work is colourful, probably as a result of her background in Brazil, where she lived half of her life before moving to England.
Her latest work for the Open Studio at the Walkern Gallery, Walkern, was a series of representation of Chakras and Mandalas, in her personal way; colourful and yet free from geometrical forms, following her feelings and personal interpretation. They were 6 large oil canvases, approximately 60"x46".
Some of her work is now in private collections in many countries, including: Brazil, Spain, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, United States and Japan. Evelina regularly shows her work in the UK and abroad. She teaches painting techniques to intermediate and mature students plus drawing or painting exercises to develop creativity.
Evelina is also a photographer and provides commercial photographic services for birthdays, weddings and other festivities. Size of the photographs very from A5 up to A3 with the production of CDs and albums.
She prodices commissions of photo montages with the relevant moments of the occasion, arranged in an artistic personel bespoke way in size A3. Some not traditional and more creative works in all sizes are also produced based on various subjects designed and enhanced with the help of Photoshop.
Evelina belongs to the Welwyn Garden City Photographers Club where she shows her photographic work for competitions and exhibtions.
