Artist’s statement:
I create richly coloured and textured abstract mixed media collages and prints, currently inspired by my longstanding interest in Indian culture and beliefs.
The hot vibrant colours, the jewel like palaces, the shimmering iridescent qualities of Indian architecture and fabric and the myriad aspects of Hinduism – all have influenced aspects of my work. I often include text, as a way of directly conveying my experiences and thoughts and a something visually interesting in its own right.
Having been trained in printed textiles, experimentation with colour, shape and pattern is something which comes naturally. Bold and expressive colour combination has always excited me.
My work is suitable for both home and office and can be seen and purchased at my home studio by appointment.
