Artist's statement:
Angela Edmonds completed a BA Hons in Fine Art in 1990 and received a MA from Middlesex University in 1997. Her career spans the divide between figurative painting and conceptual objects based sculpture.
Her earlier works were mainly large expressive figurative drawings and these have been widely exhibited from The Royal Academy London, to abroad in Japan, Germany and the USA.
For the past ten years Angela Edmonds has made object based assemblages and related photography. In these works everyday domestic objects are combined in unconventional ways to creat new meanings with a surreal element of humour. These works have been exhibited in venues including Kettle's Yard, Cambridge and The Ferens Gallery, Hull.
