The two major influences in her work are our relationship with nature, and the spiritual journey of self-knowledge we all undertake in this life.
Recent works consist of sculptures and installations, using natural materials, particularly skeleton leaves, addressing the ephemeral nature of life, often dealing with the poignancy of the cast off shell of the body once the life has departed.
Although mostly working three dimensionally at present, Asiya continues to make paintings, collages and prints.
