Rickmansworth Decorative and Fine Arts Society

Illustrated lectures take place at Sarratt Village Hall, Sarratt Green, Near Rickmansworth, at 11.00pm on every second Tuesday in the month from September to June.

Lectures 2008/2009:
* 9th September - AGM 10.45am followed by Golden Age of English Furniture - Deborah Lambert;
* 14th October - Charles Darwin and the Voyage of HMS Beagle - James Taylor;
* 11th November - History of the Palace Theatre, Watford - Ian Scleater;
* 16th December - The Christmas Story Seen by the Great Painters (with music) - Shirley Turner;
* 13th January - Rachel Whitevread (20th Century British Sculptor) - Linda Smith;
* 10th February - Andrea Palladio and the English Palladians - Launce Gribbins;
* 10th March - Art and Everyday Life in Ancient Pompeii - Neil Faulkner;
* 14th April - Francis Bacon - A 20th Century Master - Frank Woodgate;
* 12th May - Van Dyck in England - Angela Cox;
* 9th June - A Brush with Opera-Designs, Props and Paintings by Great Artists for the Stage (with music) - Sarah Lenton.

The society is affiliated to NADFAS, whose aims are to promote the study and appreciation of the decorative and fine arts and to help preserve the national artistic heritage.
