Meets on Tuesday evenings between 7.30pm and 9.30pm at Stevenage Resource Centre, Chells Way.
Subscription £25.00 per annum, OAPs £20.00, students (full time) free.
Guests are always welcome and membership is open to all with an interest in amateur radio. From time to time Amateur Radio Courses are arranged and Morse tuition is available most Tuesday evenings.
The club meets in an informal atmosphere. Talks from club members or invited guests take place on a semi-regular basis. On other evenings videos are viewed or the evening is devoted to on-air activity. The club has a permanent station on HF and VHF with a crank-up 60ft mast. It uses the call sign G3SAD.
The club was formed in 1956 and although there are only a few members from the early days, there is considerable experience among the club members of all (or most) aspects of the hobby, so help is always on hand.
The club enters a number of Amateur Radio Contests each year. Contesting is undertaken mostly for fun. Most are field events, but a number of contests take place with the use of the Club Station.
