Hertfordshire Gardens Trust

Hertfordshire Gardens Trust is an organisation making a difference to the protection and conservation of the county's historic environment and helping more of our schools to garden. The Trust's achievements include:

* research and survey of historic parks and gardens in east, west and mid-Hertfordshire leading to five publications

* guidance, technical support and funding for over 250 schools through Wheelbarrow Workshops, school visits and School Grounds Awards Schemes

* setting up a professionally trained conservation team which works alongside English Heritage, The Garden History Society and all Local Authorities in the county giving timely, relevant and comprehensive advice on the preservation of historic parks and gardens

HGT is always happy to welcome new members and there is an excellent annual programme of events for members and their friends including visits to gardens beyond Hertfordshire not usually open to the public, musical evenings, garden open days and plant sales and lectures with nationally recognised speakers. The Trust produces two newsletters a year and an annual report and the AGM, in July, is held as a garden party in one of the county's spectacular gardens.

Subscriptions are £20 per annum for an individual member and £30 for joint members (costs as at 20/04/2009). Societies and Schools pay an individual membership subscription.
