The Society has just under 300 households in membership, the majority of which are in Marshalswick, but some are further afield.
The main aim is the encouragement of horticulture in all ways - this includes the holding of shows, exhibitions, talks, lectures and coach trips.
Annual Flower and Vegetable show is held on the second Saturday of September in 2006 and is open to the public from 2.15pm.
Talks on topics of interest to gardeners are given on the first Mondays of October, November, December, February and March from 8.15pm. Admission to non-members is £1.00.
The Society usually runs coach trips to particularly attractive gardens twice per year.
Three local gardens are usually opened to members, teas and plants for sale being provided in July.
Events are usually well attended and members are always friendly and approachable.
Membership costs: £5.00 per annum (£7.00 from Jan 2009).
Date of AGM: April; Followed by a plant exchange.
