The Alpine Garden Society (AGS) is dedicated to the study and growth of plants from the world's mountains and caters for both ordinary gardeners and specialists.
The Society meets on the fourth Saturday in the month at 3.00pm with a series of monthly lectures from the end of September until June. Lecturers are specialist nurserymen, plant hunters and travellers with a camera from the AGS's list of experts.
During the year there is also a plant exchange, a competition open to all, regular plant sales and a raffle each meeting. Details of the current programme can be found on the website.
There is a small meeting fee, which includes refreshments.
