First Wednesday of every month (except August and January) at 8.00pm.
The society has a membership of approximately 150 people from Wheathampstead and the surrounding area who are interested in plants and gardening. They aim to provide a variety of high quality, illustrated talks, demonstrations or other social events. Non-members are most welcome at any of the meetings.
They run coach trips to renowned gardens and hold a popular plant sale towards the end of May, usually in the Mead Hall close to the village centre.
The Wine Club, a section of the Horticultural Society, meets on the last Wednesday of the month (except July, August and December) and has a range of events such as professionally led tastings, home brewing and cooking with wine.
The Annual Show of flowers, fruit, vegetables, wine, cookery and floral arrangements is held on the second Saturday in September and is open to the public from 2.00 pm.
