Hertford and District Modelling Society

Meetings are held at Ware Football Club, Wodson Park (there is small bar and plenty of room) on the first and third Thursdays of the month beginning at around 8.00pm.

There are also model boat regattas on Sunday at 2.00pm from March to October on St Edmunds College Lakes.

The club was founded in 1970 by a small group of enthusiastic model boaters. Initially the hope was to attract all types of modellers, but it has always attracted model boaters, although now predominantly scale.

The first type of boats being run by the club were i,c, boats, being large cabin cruisers. This led to the club changing to multi-racing and becoming more competitive and organising regular club regattas.

Hertford and District Modelling Society gives the opportunity for model boat builders to meet and gain advice on all subjects. They run both club and national competitions during the summer. There is a regatta list available on request. In addition the members have played important roles in the national organisation of model boats.

Directions: To get to our pond take th A10 road North from Ware to puckeridge on the first roundabout to go left to Old Hall Green and then first right, keep going till you come to the all weather tennis courts on your left, just pass there is a gate in the hedge go through the gate keep to the right and you will see the pond.
