The membership of the HPA includes ex-employees of Handley Page, ex-aircrew andoperators of HP aircraft, and those with a general interest in aviation history and the preservation of historic aircraft.
The aims are:
* To keep alive the memories of the HP companies, and to organise social and other events for the members;
* To provide a means of communication between members;
* To encourage new ideas and developments in the aeronautical field and to promote their application to other disciplines.
The HPA supports aircraft preservation and restoration projects related to HP products. This ranges from extensive archives, to direct involvement by members.
Membership costs £10.00; £8.00 for over 65's; £6.00 for under 16's (as at June 2007). Members receive regular newsletters. Talks, film shows and social events are held about five times a year at Frogmore Parish Centre and Bricket Wood Social Club. Visits to places of aviation interest are arranged.
The HPA is a member of the British Aviation Preservation Council.
