This Museum is run by Potters Bar and District Historical Society (please see separate entry on the Database for more details about the Society). Volunteer stewards are supplied by the Society.
There is free admission to the museum and groups are welcome by appointment.
The Museum comprises items relating to the local history and archaeology of Potters Bar and South Mimms within the area covered by Hertsmere Borough Council and Welwyn Hatfield District. The Museum sells the publications on local history produced by the Historical Society.
The permanent displays cover the period from pre-history to the present day. The temporary exhibition is changed in January and June.
Catering Facilities: The Centre has a cafe which closes at 2pm.
Opening Hours:
* Tuesday 2.30pm-4.30pm;
* Wednesday 2.30pm-4.30pm;
* Saturday 11.00am-1.00pm.
All day when there is an Antiques fair in the building (some Sundays).
Directions: The Centre is within 200 yards of Potters Bar Railway Station.
Accessibility: Wheelchair access, disabled toilet and lift to first floor.
