Letchworth Museum and Art Gallery

Letchworth Museum was opened in 1914 to house the collections of the Letchworth Naturalists' Society.

The ground floor Natural History Gallery contains examples of local wildlife in realistic settings.

The Art Gallery upstairs houses monthly changing exhibitions of paintings, photography and crafts. Many items are for sale.

The Archaeology Gallery upstairs illustrates how people have lived in the area for many thousands of years, with displays on the Iron Age and Romans.

Other services include:
* A Museum shop;
* An identification service for mystery objects;
* A regular programme of workshops;
* A schools service.

Admission Free.

Opening Hours:
* Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays-Saturdays 10.00am-5.00pm;
* Sundays and Bank Holidays closed;
* Wednesdays closed.

Publications: Six-monthly exhibition programme.

Directions: Letchworth station is about 10 minutes away.
Buses stop about 50 yards away.
