The Chiltern Open Air Museum rescues and re-erects historic buildings from the Chiltern area. There are over 30 buildings set in 45 acres of countryside. Examples of the types of buildings include: a 1940s prefab, a toll-house, an Iron Age house and a Victorian Farm.
On site there is also a woodland nature trail, seat sculpture trail, the Conservation and Education Centre of the Hawk and Owl Trust (which works to conserve wild birds of prey and their habitats), a cafe and a gift shop.
Some parts of the site have steep gradients or steps and are not easily accessible. Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge. Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on leads at all times.
School visits are welcome and there is a School Education Programme.
